How does it work?

At Diamond Studio, we specialise in remodelling and recycling your old gold jewellery into stunning new creations. Even grandad’s old gold tooth fillings can be refined and reused! Any carat gold, in any condition, can be transformed into something beautiful and wearable again.
The process
Step 1 – Bring in Your Gold
Bring in all your bits and pieces — rings, chains, earrings, broken items, or old family gold. We’ll carefully test each piece to determine its carat purity, then weigh it to calculate exactly how much gold you have to work with.
From there, we’ll talk through your ideas, whether you’d like to remodel a family heirloom or create a completely new custom design. If you don’t have quite enough gold for your chosen design, we can supply additional metal or gemstones to complete your piece.
Step 2 – Design and Quote
Once we’ve discussed your ideas, we’ll create design options that suit your taste and budget. This may include sketches, CAD renders, or 3D models so you can visualise your new jewellery.
We’ll then provide a firm quote and estimated completion date, including any extra materials needed.
Step 3 – Crafting Your New Piece
After you approve the design, your old gold is melted down, refined, and alloyed to the desired metal colour and carat (for example, 18k yellow, white, or rose gold).
Our Master Goldsmith, Mark Peddie, then either handcrafts or makes a casting of your new piece with precision and care, combining the sentimental value of your old jewellery with a brand-new look.
Step 4 – Independent Valuation (Optional)
Before collection, your finished jewellery can be independently valued by GemLab Valuers for insurance or peace of mind. This ensures an accurate market valuation for your new creation.
Step 5 – Collection and Celebration
We’ll contact you as soon as your new piece is ready and arrange a convenient time for collection.
