What to do in preparation
Bring in any images or ideas you might have, along with any jewellery you would like to incorporate into your new piece. If you are going to discuss a new engagement ring, be sure you have a very good idea of what your partner would like, and their ring size if possible!

About your significant other? If so, there is no other place you should go for a meaningful piece of jewellery than to Mark and his team at the Diamond Studio in Mairangi Bay. I put Mark through the w(ring)er in terms of projects: I was picky, I had demands, I wanted this metal used for that from this old heirloom, ad infinitum. He had his work cut out for him, unlike the gems I got him to cut. And even in the face of adversity, he (and his team, when he wasn’t directly available, which most of the time he was) pushed through and put in more work and dedication than any other jeweller I’ve dealt with before. These rings pictured are my wedding band (silver w/ onyx) and my wife’s wedding band (gold w/ lab grown diamonds) with spacer ring to create a stack. There is one thing we are disappointed about in this whole process: the fact we didn’t contact the Diamond Studio for our engagement ring, because it would have been so much better.
